I do understand and am empathetic to the fact that pediatricians see parents every day who are overly-sensitive & paranoid. They have mothers begging them for antibiotics when they don’t need them, etc., etc.,

 

However, that being said, it does not give them the right to discount everything that all parents they perceive as overly-sensitive & paranoid say, they should take every claim seriously, regardless of their experience.

 

There are some conditions, like Hailey’s, that even the best specialists have a hard time recognizing and diagnosing, the best thing for pediatricians to do is to make sure patients have the best resources, regardless of how serious the pediatrician feels the problem is, or even if they feel it is an “imaginary” problem.
